RAJOURI, Nov 29: The police today arrested driver of a bus for the murder of conductor in Kandi area of district Rajouri today.
The deceased has been identified as young Ghulam Hussain alias Machhar , son of Hassan Din, resident of Kundar Dan in Mahore. He was working as conductor with the bus No. JK02AG/7193 and had gone to Rajouri with the bus. His dead body was recovered lying on the road side at Faiza Morh in Kandi about 2 kms from Kotranka on Friday morning under mysterious circumstances.
The police after recovering unidentified body started investigation. His identity was established late in the evening and the police then got its postmortem conducted by a team of doctors at Kotranka hospital. The police recovered a slip with telephone number from the pocket of the deceased and kept the number under serveillence. The police then brought the driver of the bus from Mahore and placed him under sustained questioning.
The driver disclosed that he had gone to Rajouri and was returning on the night of November 27. He had clash with conductor on some issue and then he attacked on his head with iron rod ( Panna) on the way and he was killed on the spot. It was around 11 pm and then his body was thrown on the road side at Faiza Morh. He took night halt at Budhal and then reached Mahore the next day.
The police arrested the accused Mohd Rashid, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Chingus and registered a case against him. The body after postmortem was handed over to the family.
