Drabu inaugurates reconstructed Treasury Office

SRINAGAR, Oct 10:  Minister for Finance & Culture, Dr Haseeb A Drabu today inaugurated the reconstructed Treasury Office building at Lal Mandi here.
Minister for Roads and Buildings, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Gupta were present on the occasion.
The building has been constructed by Roads and Buildings Department at a cost of Rs 75 lakh. The construction was started in January 2014 but was heavily affected due to last year’s floods.
On the instructions of Finance Minister the work on the building was expedited and it was finished within the revised deadline.
Earlier, the Treasury Office was functioning from a makeshift arrangement at Accountancy Training School Haft Chinar.
The Treasury Office caters to more than one hundred Drawing & Disbursing Officers (DDO).
Commissioner Secretary, Finance, Navin Kumar Choudhary, Director General, Accounts and Treasuries, Mirza Altaf Hassan and other officers were also present on the occasion.
