JAMMU, Mar 11: Dr Sunil Dogra, Professor of Dermatology at PGI Chandigarh has been selected for prestigious position of chairperson of IADVL Academy.
The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL), is the world’s 2nd largest Association of Dermatologists behind the American Academy of Dermatology. It is the national association of Indian medical specialists who manage patients with skin disorders, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or leprosy. The current member strength of the association is 17,000 plus.
Dr Dogra did his initial schooling in Government Middle School at Bhaiya village of Tehsil Hiranagar, Kathua District. He is graduate (MBBS) from JIPMER Pondicherry and postgraduate (MD Dermatology) from PGI Chandigarh. He has distinction of having highest citations of his publications and highest H index among dermatologists from India. He has more than 500 publications in peer reviewed journals to his credit, contributed more than 35 chapters in the textbooks and edited 3 textbooks.
He is a Diplomate of Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons (Glasgow), Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London & Edinburgh) and National Academy of Medical Sciences (India). Besides, he is recipient of many awards and honours and is on editorial board of various national & international prestigious journals. Dr Dogra is also a councilor for International Psoriasis Council (IPC) and chairperson of various scientific advisory committees.
