JAMMU, July 24:  Dr Shazad Malik, Vice Chancellor of Sai Nath University, has urged the Union Government and State Government of Jammu and Kashmir to launch special recruitment drive in belt forces including Army, para military forces, J & K police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) for absorbing youth of border areas.
In his appeal, the VC said due to continuous unrest at borders in Jammu and Kashmir, no industries or other kind of entrepreneurship can be set up there till peace prevails and presently due to financial constraints, the State Government is also not in position to provide employment to educated youth of border areas. Therefore, he added, it is imperative that these youth may be provided an opportunity to serve the nation and also earn their livelihood by way of providing them employment in belt forces.
“Though the valor, morale of every youth of the State is unmatchable but virtually, the people living along border areas are mentally and physically stronger than those living in other peaceful areas,” he said and added that the locals understand the demography and terrain of border areas better than anyone else thus their services in the Army and para military forces would be prudent for further strengthening our armed forces.
The VC also demanded a special desk and helpline number there in the office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu to deal with cases related to welfare and relief of border residents and border migrants.
