JAMMU, May 2: Renowned orthopaedic and joint replacement surgeon, Dr Ranjit Singh was honoured with the Healthcare Excellence Award at The Times of India’s Healthcare Pioneers event held at Ludhiana.
The award was presented by Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh in recognition of Dr Singh’s outstanding contribution to knee replacement surgeries and surgical innovation.
Dr Singh has emerged as a trusted name in North India for complex knee replacements, with thousands of patients regaining pain-free mobility under his care. What sets his work apart is the integration of his innovative 3D RoboLens technique, which has proven to be a boon for patients suffering from advanced osteoarthritis and joint degeneration.
Unlike Robotic knee surgery methods, the 3D RoboLens technique uses AI-powered real-time mapping to create a millimetre-precise 3D model of the patient’s knee anatomy. This allows Dr Singh to plan bone cuts, alignment, and implant positioning with unmatched accuracy – all without the need for additional pins or invasive trackers.
While receiving the award, Dr Ranjit Singh said, “Every patient deserves a knee that feels natural and lasts long. 3D RoboLens technique helps us achieve perfect alignment, which is key to implant longevity and natural movement. It has truly made knee replacement simpler, safer, and more predictable.”
Health Minister Balbir Singh said by combining 3D visualization with AI navigation, Dr Singh has bridged the gap between manual expertise and robotic precision, while eliminating many complications associated with fully robotic systems.
Patients from across North India travel to Dr Ranjit for his expertise. Many have reported walking within 24 hours post-surgery and returning to normal life within weeks – outcomes that were once considered difficult.
The Healthcare Pioneers award, presented by Bennett & Coleman’s The Times of India, celebrates doctors who redefine patient care through innovation.
