Dr Parvinder Pal Singh gets CSIR-Young Scientist Award

JAMMU, Oct 5: Dr Parvinder Pal Singh, Scientist and Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Jammu, has been awarded with prestigious CSIR Young Scientist Award- 2014 in Chemical Science.
The award comprises of plaque, citation, cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a research grant of 5 lakh per annum for a period of five years.
The award was given by Minister of State (I/C) for S&T and Earth Sciences, Dr Jitendra Singh, Secretary- DBT, Prof K Vijay Raghavan and Director General-CSIR, Dr Paramvir Singh Ahuja during 72nd CSIR Foundation Day function, held at CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (NPL), New Delhi.
CSIR Young Scientist Award -2014 has been given to eight scientists, working in the area of Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences and Physical Sciences.
Dr Parvinder Pal Singh is son of S Davinder Singh of Poonch and he has been awarded with CSIR Young Scientist Award for his significant contribution in “Developing Novel Synthetic Methods and their application towards the synthesis of bio-active molecules”.
