Dr Lahori saves youth’s life by reviving heart at GMC

Jammu, Aug 28: Dr Rohit Lahori, Registrar of Anesthesia and Critical Care has won the heart of the family by saving their injured 25-year son’s life after reviving his heart by Sub-diaphragmatic cardiac message, a special manual technique, after all medicare techniques failed and heart stopped functioning for several minutes at GMC hospital here.
25-year old Neeraj son of Suran Singh of Sapowal village was brought to Government Medical College (GMC) hospital due to road accident in which he received a head and internal injuries, Doctors at GMC said today.
As the doctors prepared to operate him, Neeraj suffered a severe heart attack and heart sunk at operation table, they said and added cardiopulmonary cerebral resuscitation (CPCR) shocks and all modern technical and medical facilities failed to revive his heart.
Apprehended that patient was impossible to revive, Dr Rohit Lahori put his hand through abdomen and pumped the heart and after cardiac message, the heart was revived after 7 minutes thereby bringing new lease of life to the injured patient, they said.
Normally, chest is opened and manual pumping is administered through it but it was for the first time that heart was revived through abdomen, they said.
After the revival of his heart, Neeraj was admitted to the ICU of GMC hospital, where his condition is stated to be critical but stable in all parameters.

The family members also turned emotional by praising the doctor for saving the life of their child by reviving his heart.
