REASI, Apr 15: Hitting back at Congress for its allegation that Modi Government was only taking credit for the schemes launched during  UPA rule, the Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today said that had it been true, why did the previous regime fail to implement the same.
“Moreover, even if there is an iota of truth, they (Congress) should feel proud of Modi Government  for carrying forward  these schemes to a logical conclusion, which they could not do during the last 60 years,” he jeered while addressing a gathering during inauguration of ‘Kissan Sammelan’ at Bhabbar, here today.
On the occasion, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space,  who is also Member of Parliament from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency, announced to pay the premium of  Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Crop Insurance Scheme) from his funds for the needy farmers of his constituency. He asked the local MLA and the party workers to prepare a list of such farmers for whom the premium for crop insurance will be paid from his MPLAD or personal fund.
Highlighting the number of schemes, launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi  for the benefit of commoners, farmers, small businessmen, poor and downtrodden, he asked the people to take  advantage of such schemes for their economic upliftment, which will ultimately ensure prosperity of India. He also asked the State Government to ensure the implementation of these Centrally sponsored schemes in J&K.

The tank is placed on a platform surrounded by a recreation park. The War Memorial has been funded from MPLAD fund of Dr Jitendra Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singh said that the  war memorial will not only serve as a recreation and tourist spot, but will also serve as a source of inspiration for youngsters and students when they read its history which is inscribed alongside.
Present on the occasion was a local youth named Dilip Singh, who had lost one of his legs in a road accident and for whom, as a rare gesture, Dr Singh had arranged the latest artificial limb implant followed by limb training by foreign experts, and the whole exercise had cost nearly Rs  8 lakhs. Expressing his thanks, Dilip Singh said, while the inauguration of War Memorial was a mere inauguration, but in his case, Dr Jitendra Singh had actually inaugurated a new lease of life for him.
Responding to Dilip Singh’s acknowledgement, Dr Jitendra Singh said that it was not a favour to this young man, but as an elected representative, it was his duty to restore the capacity and ability of the youth in order to enable him to use his energy and potential for the service of society and nation.
