Dr Jitendra flays PM’s Kishtwar visit, CM’s remarks

JAMMU, June 26: BJP National Executive Member & J&K Chief Spokesperson Dr Jitendra Singh, who is also the party’s officially designated National TV panelist, has described Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s Kishtwar visit as highly disappointing which has, instead of applying balm over the sufferings of recent earthquake victims, only added insult to injury by denying the people of the region  the much awaited earthquake relief.
Dr Jitendra Singh also expressed disappointment to note that the Government sponsored function to lay foundation stone of Ratle Hydro-electric Project in Kishtwar seemed more like a Congress affair intended to make it appear as if the project had become possible because of charity from the Congress kitty.
Dr Jitendra Singh also took exception to Chief Minister’s unwarranted remarks in Kishtwar that the UPA Government and Sonia Gandhi had always been forthcoming in their assistance to J&K and referred to what the CM described as the prospect of an “unfriendly” or “not friendly” Government coming to power at the Center. Dr Jitendra Singh said a responsible Chief Minister sworn under the oath of Constitution of India was not expected to make such hypothetic observations and as a former Union Minister in the BJP led NDA Government headed by Mr Vajpayee, the Chief Minister ought to know better than anybody else that by and large there is a consistency in the Govt of India’s stand and policy with regard to Jammu & Kashmir.
He said the Chief Minister, as the then Union Minister in NDA Government, will bear out that the headway made with regard to J&K during Prime Minister Vajpayee’s six year regime remains unmatched by any other initiative taken by anybody thereafter.
Dr Jitendra Singh  said by making such tilted remarks the CM has only exposed his insecurity in the wake of his party’s declining popularity and has also betrayed his desperation to appease the Valley’s “separatist” constituency by uttering phrases which are music for the separatist camp.
