KALAKOTE, June 26: All Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Union (AJKKU) will organize dharna at all Panchayat Headquarters of the Kalakote Constituency on July 4, 2013 to protest against the manifold increase in power tariff and inflated billing. This will be followed by a massive protest demonstration and dharna at district headquarter Rajouri.
This was stated by AJKKU chairman, Ashok Sharma, while concluding 11-day protest dharnas and awareness rallies organized across the Constituency, last evening.
He said that the unilateral hike effected in electricity charges is too high to pay for the poor peasents.
He questioned the rational behind upward revision of load without supplying the power and suggested that the consumers must be charged as per the actual electricity consumed by them.
