JAMMU, Apr 19: Police today arrested a man wanted under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) from Rajouri district.

The accused, identified as Asgar Ali alias Tola of Chowadhi, was involved in multiple FIRs registered at Channi Himmat and Trikuta Nagar Police Stations for offences including murder, attempt to murder, theft and violations under the Arms Act, officials said.
He had been under continuous surveillance by the CID’s Special Branch, they said, adding that his location was traced on Wednesday, but he managed to evade the arrest at that time.
Later, on receiving fresh inputs that he had moved to Rajouri, the CID shared the information with District Police Jammu, following which he was arrested during night hours, the officials added.
