“For the vote bank consideration, earlier Governments did unequal development that led to regional discrimination, which was a usual complain by people in Jammu,” he said while talking to media persons on sidelines of a function here today.
Dr Jitendra Singh claimed that Modi Government has not only accelerated the pace of development but also ensured equitable distribution of Central funds and the projects for each region, irrespective of vote bank politics.
“Moreover, there are some projects which are progressing well in Jammu whereas similar projects in Kashmir are delayed not because of any deliberate attempt but the local conditions there,” he said while listing AIIMS, Ring Road, Biotech Park projects etc in this category.
The Union Minister stressed that equitable development has been ensured by the Modi Government in the last 6-7 years and hence there was no more complain of step motherly treatment to Jammu or any other region in the country. “All this has been done because PM Modi has taken personal and keen interest in filling up the gaps created by previous Governments,” he added.
Referring to the scheduled visit of around 70 Central Ministers to Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, Dr Jitendra Singh said that the move was an indicator of Modi Government’s pro-active approach for reaching to people.
“This will be development oriented visit during which the Central Ministers will meet people and take feedback about the issues related to their concerned ministries,” he added.

“These achievements give us a sense of satisfaction and proud feeling that we have a Government, which is committed to help common people. It is now our responsibility to take forward these initiatives for public welfare,” he said exhorting the BJP workers to remain united as a family and work together.
