JAMMU, Sept 21: Member Legislative Council (MLC) Dr Shehnaz Ganai, today provided Rs 20 lakh at the disposal of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, out of her Constituency Development Fund (CDF), to be utilised for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected people in district Poonch. Besides this she has also sanctioned two ambulances one each for Sawjian and Loran out of her CDF.
Dr Ganai today visited various villages in Loran and assured the people of all possible help, saying that the Government is aware of their problems and taking all measures to mitigate them. She added that a massive rehabilitation programme has become necessary.
Dr Ganai said that as the winter is approaching, the administration needs to setup pre-fabricated huts at the affected places for housing the affected families.
She asked the District Administration to speed up the process of damage assessment so that the compensation is paid to the people, and also that ex-gratia relief be paid to the next of the kin of those who lost their loved ones.
