Dr Bharat Bhushan conferred Lifetime Achievement Award

JAMMU, May 27: IIFS, New Delhi-a non-Governmental, non-political body working for the past over 20 years for the cause of promoting communal harmony, national amity etc has conferred Mahatma Gandhi Life Time Achievement Award on Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Director Social Welfare, Jammu in recognisation of his services.
The award has been conferred coinciding with 150 years of celebrations of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan has been awarded because of multifarious services he is rendering to the society.
A handout stated that Dr. Bharat Bhushan has rare distinction of having active participation in Bharat Jodo Andolon which was launched in late eighties by noted Gandhian- Baba Amte.
He has worked with noted environmentalist Mohan-G-Advani of Mumbai who developed technique of raising instant trees to protect the environment.
He is also contributing write-ups to many weekly magazines and English Dailies including Daily Excelsior.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dr. Bharat Bhushan has interacted with noted Gandhian Nirmala Deshpande-the then President of Akhil Bhartiya Rachnatamak Samaj, New Delhi and worked in close association with late Balraj Puri (noted civil rights activist and eminent journalist) and Gandhian Surinder Bajaj of Jammu.
