Dr Bhandari delivers lecture at SKIMS

Srinagar, Sept 8: Padam Shree awardee, Dr Mahindra Bhandari, who is Director Robotic Research  Education Vattikuti Urology Institute at Henry Ford Hospital USA and CEO Robotic Surgery Programme at Vattikuti Foundation , MI Detroit USA, delivered a lecture on “Future of Surgery”  organized by Department of General and Minimal Invasive Surgery today at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura auditorium.
A spokesperson of SKIMS said that Dr Mahindra delivered a detailed lecture and highlighted the advantages of robotic (computer assisted) surgery. He said in technologically fast changing world it is very important to remain abreast with new techniques & advances in medical field. “There have been great advances made in the field of surgery, from open surgery/ laparoscopic surgery to now robotic surgery. He advised students/ upcoming surgeons to be passionate and open to learning,” the spokesperson said.
HoD General and Minimal Invasive Surgery SKIMS Dr Khursheed Aalam Wani and Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS Dr Gul Javid chaired the session.
The spokesperson said that Dr Khursheed Alam welcomed the guest. The lecture was attended by faculty members & students. The students interacted with the guest and found the session useful.
