KATRA, Sept 8: Police has arrested a drug peddler and seized 1.3 kg Poppy straw, which was being smuggled by the accused in a TATA Sumo vehicle.
Reports said that a special team from Police Station Katra laid a naka at Searli and intercepted one person namely Vakeel Singh of Rathian, who was on way towards Katra in TATA Sumo bearing registration number JK19/0369. During checking of the vehicle, 1.3 kg Poppy straw was recovered. The accused person was arrested and the vehicle ‘used for transportation of Bhuki’ was seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 146/2015 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation of the case was in progress.
