BPOA calls on VC JDA

JAMMU, Sept 8: A delegation of Bahu Plaza Occupants Association (BPOA) met Vice Chancellor, JDA, Mubarak Singh and discussed the parking issue with him.
The delegation said that the parking contractor is not issuing the slip to the owner of vehicle who is parking his vehicle in the parking area of Bahu Plaza.  The employee of the contractor is supposed to issue the slip mentioning the time of parking also but the same is not followed by them.
Besides, the entry gate is used for both entry and exit at Bahu Plaza while the JDA has passed orders that two separate gates for entry and exist be utilized.
The delegation said that the staff contractor is required to wear his badge or name plate on his chest but that is also not being followed. Moreover the parking rates are not being displayed and the contractor charges Rs 20 for a four wheeler, even if the vehicle is parked for less than two hours.
Besides, the parking space at Bahu Plaza was meant for occupants , lessees of the complex , for general public and the customers visiting the complex for limited time. The parking contractor has given dedicated space to banks, offices from the other buildings etc, the delegation informed VC JDA.
Mubarak Singh assured the delegation that within two to three days action will be taken in the matter. The delegation warned that in case action was not taken within week the Association will launch agitation.
