JAMMU, Dec 2: Dr Azhar Malik, Head, Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, IGGDC Jammu, who is known for consistently promoting a culture of research in his college, received National recognition for his work.
He was awarded at Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics Kolkata Conference by DCI president Dr Dibyendu Mazumdar, IACDE president Dr Jagat Bhushan and IACDE general secretary Dr Prahlad.
Dr Azhar Malik has been appointed as a judge for the Research Grant Committee and was honored with a memento as an award. Research is what propels humanity forward and adds to the knowledge of individuals. Dr Azhar highlighted that research allows dental students to develop a deeper understanding of the bio social underpinnings of the profession and help in generation of new knowledge.
Dr Keshava and Dr Saravana (faculty) and Dr Sanitra Hegde & Dr Ankit Arora (PG) bagged the prize for research grants. Research has become an integral part of study in Jammu Dental College and various scientific publications have been done in reputed National journals by the students and faculty.
Under the guidance of expert faculty, students from IGGDC Jammu have also presented their research articles in national and international conferences. This recognition at a National level has inspired many young dental students for research in their respective fields and will definitely pave the way for new research opportunities for the students in J&K.
