DODA, June 19: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) here today organized a protest rally demanding immediate compensation to the victims of earthquakes in Doda and Kishtwar districts and sought government intervention in conducting survey by seismologists to know reasons behind continuous tremors in the area.
Holding placards and banners, DPAP senior leadership including vice president, G.M Saroori, Naresh Gupta, provincial vice president, chief spokesperson, Salman Nizami and others marched in Doda raising their demands.
The DPAP leaders and workers also flayed the government for stopping free ration distribution to poor, reduction in monthly ration quota to consumers and imposition of Property Tax.
The protest was part of series of protests to be held across J&K against alleged anti-people measures which are impacting common masses, be it price hike, electricity inflated bills, imposition of Property Tax and ration issue.
Addressing protesters, G.M Saroori lambasted the government for not providing any compensation to recent earthquake victims in Doda and Kishtwar districts.
The DPAP leadership also demanded rollback of ration curtailment and Property Tax.
