The scholars apprised the MLC regarding the selection criterion being adopted by the J&K Revenue Department and SSB in which the knowledge of Urdu language has been made compulsory which is becoming a hurdle for the Jammu based aspirants for their selection as NT.
They further informed MLC that the Urdu language had not been made compulsory in the schools of Jammu and Ladakh regions, moreover, their guardians and parents did not learn Urdu during their academic carrier as a result of which they are feeling being deprived of becoming selected for the post of NT which according to them is nothing but the sheer discrimination with the aspirants of both the regions of the State.
After listening to the demands raised by the deputation, Vibodh assured them that he will took up the matter with the concerned officers of Revenue Department and JKSSB so that a tangible solution can be achieved in which the Urdu would not be made compulsory upto the stage of selection for the post of NT so that the Jammu and Ladakh based students would not feel discriminated.
