Doctor, patient booked

SRINAGAR, Mar 24: Police booked a doctor and a patient in Budgam district after brawl between them over an alleged botched up surgery.
Dr Misbah, who works at District Hospital Budgam, and the patient Abdul Rasid Bhat have been booked for assaulting a woman’s modesty, wrongful restraint and assault on public servant to deter him from discharge of his duty, respectively.
The brawl incident happened after Bhat accused the doctor of botching up his kidney surgery.
Dr Misbah had operated Bhat two months ago for removing 18 mm kidney stone.
But Bhat developed some pain lately and the doctor advised him a USG test that proved the stone is still present in his kidney even after surgery, his relative Abdul Qayoom said.
He said that Bhat and his wife went to the hospital to ask the doctor whether his surgery was a failure.
“During the enquiries by the patient and his wife, hot exchange of words took place which led to scuffle. The doctor beat the woman on Monday and she went to police,” he alleged.
SHO Budgam Nisar Ahmad told Excelsior that the doctor has been booked for assaulting the woman intended to outrage her modesty.
The patient has been booked after he went again to the hospital today to meet the doctor and beat him, the police officer said.
