SRINAGAR, Apr 30: Police arrested a doctor who was involved in duping Jammu and Kashmir Bank here today.
A Police spokesman said that an application was moved by an official wherein he had mentioned that one unknown person had impersonated him and also approached top echelons of J&K Bank for some work.
He said the J&K Bank authorities took up the matter with the concerned department for verification which proved to be incorrect thereby exposing the fake identity of the said person.
“Accordingly, a case FIR No 33/2018 under Section 419 RPC was registered at Police Station Kothi Bagh and investigation was set into motion. During the course of investigation, Police identified and arrested a doctor Dr Nauman Farooq, a resident of Sarai Bala, Srinagar who had impersonated in this case. Further investigation in the case is going on,” he said.
