DLL JU organises workshop for Ladakh students

JAMMU, Nov 20: The Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu, organised one- day workshop on coaching for ST Ladakhi students in the Department here with the objective to prepare them for NET JRF, KAS, Bank PO/Clerical examinations and remedial coaching.
Dr Vivek Sharma, Senior Assistant Professor and Coordinator Coaching, informed all the participants of this one day workshop on awareness building among the Ladakhi students about UGC Coaching Scheme for SC/ST/OBC/ Minorities. He also shared the information about the various programmes being offered by the Department of Lifelong Learning.
“We have these schemes for SC/ST/OBC/ Minorities and Ladakhi students should come forward and avail the benefit of these schemes”, said Dr Sharma adding that the respective representatives of various Ladakhi students organisations would spread this information among hundreds of students from their community studying in Jammu so that they are benefited by the coaching schemes.
Dr Kavita Suri, Director DLL, shared the pivotal role played by the Department of Lifelong Learning by offering various courses for SC/ST/OBC/minorities, particularly for the Ladakhi, Gujjar Bakkarwal and minority communities and urged upon leaders of student organization of Ladakh to provide a list of interested students who want to seek coaching for various competitive programme so that the UGC’s Scheme of Coaching be implemented in its true spirit at the University of Jammu.
Ajaz Mir, President, Students Association of Ladakh, Jammu ; Rinchan Namgyal, Vice-President, Students Association of Ladakh, Jammu; Disket Dolma, Vice- President, Aryan Students Association, Jammu; Stanzin Norboo, President, Students Educational Forum Jammu; Mohammed Aliyas, Secretary, All Ladakh Students Welfare Association, Jammu ; Lobzan Paldan, President, All Zanskar students Association, Jammu were present on t the occasion.
The Presidents / Vice- Presidents / Secretaries of the various Ladakhi Association shared information about their academic needs and assured that they will provide the list of students who are interested to take the benefits of this scheme and promised to extend their support for effective Implementation of this Coaching Scheme for the betterment and welfare of the Ladakhi students.
