JAMMU, May 10: Divine Light St Marys Convent School, Domana celebrated annual day here today.
On the occasion, Minister for Social Welfare, Forests, Ecology and Environment, Bali Bhagat was the chief guest, who while speaking said that educational institutes should ensure conducive environment for nurturing and shaping the personality of the students.
Senior BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi was the guest of honour. Chairman of the School Parmod Kapai, Principal Raghvan TC, staff, students, parents and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
Minister said that education is a vital tool to shape the future of a child and nation. He said that schools should aim to incorporate new teaching methodologies and provide opportunities for sports and co-curricular activities for overall personality development of the students.
He said that need of hour is to channelize the potential of children in the right direction.
Minister said that annual day is a good opportunity for the students to show their talent and also a pleasurable moment for the parents.
Yudhvir Sethi while speaking called upon the school management to keep their education standards high besides providing good facilities to the students.
On the occasion, students of the institution presented cultural programme, which was highly appreciated by the audience with thundering applauses.
