Div Com reviews status of land acquisition for border fencing, allied works

JAMMU, Feb 26: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Hemant Kumar Sharma today held a detailed review meeting with Deputy Commissioners of Jammu, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch and Kathua to review progress on various ongoing works being undertaken by these offices.
During the meeting, various matters including status of land acquisition cases of border fencing (135 feet), status of acquisition cases of BOPs (Border Out Posts), quantum of category wise land (State/evacuee, private, forest, etc) lying in between border fencing and zero line, crop compensation, status of community/individual type bunkers, among others were discussed in the meeting.
Kumar asserted on DCs to expedite the pace on these works and said that the works with regard to border fencing must be finished on priority.
Divisional Commissioner was also apprised by concerned DCs about details of damage incurred during the cross border firing in various districts in the last three years. The DCs furnished details on number of human casualties, livestock loss and damage on public, private infrastructure besides status of disbursement of relief to these people.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner in presence of Deputy Commissioner Jammu and other officers reviewed the progress of Ring Road project. He directed the concerned officers to ensure timely disbursement of compensation to the land owners.
