JAMMU, Aug 19: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, today reviewed progress on Ring Road project at a meeting with the concerned officers.
The meeting was attended by Project Director NHAI, Ajay Kumar Rajak, Sub Divisional Magistrate Jammu North, Satish Sharma, Tehsildar Bishnah and other concerned officers while Deputy Commissioner, Samba attended the meeting through video conferencing.
Deputy Commissioner Samba informed that land acquisition cases of ring road falling in his jurisdiction have been cleared, awards issued and compensation has also been disbursed among the beneficiaries.
The officers of NHAI informed the Div Com about the works being done so far besides discussing the status of remaining works which are at different stages of completion.
Div Com asked the executing agencies to ensure that all the bottlenecks hindering the vital works are removed at the earliest and expedite the pace of work to meet the timelines.
Earlier, in a meeting with Airport authorities the Divisional Commissioner discussed issues of resurfacing works at AF station.
The meeting was attended by officer of Airforce, Airport Managers and other concerned officer.
Later, Divisional Commissioner visited Transport Nagar Narwal and inspected JDA shops constructed to rehabilitate the shop keepers, traders whose shops were dislocated due to construction of multi tier parking at General Bus stand Jammu.
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, VC JDA, Vikas Sharma, SSP Jammu, Tejinder Singh, Joint Commissioner JMC, Sunaina Sharma and other concerned officers.
Earlier, the Div Com chaired a meeting of officers regarding the status of shops constructed by JDA, allotment modalities, rehabilitation issues etc.
The officials of JDA apprised the Div Com of total shops constructed and number of shopkeepers to be rehabilitated in Transport Nagar and Bus Stand.
Div Com directed the concerned officers for expediting the process for allotment of shops to the dislocated shopkeepers to facilitate them start their livelihood ventures at the earliest.
Later, the Div Com convened a meeting of officers concerned to discuss plan for developing basic facilities and other requisite infrastructure to facilitate the traders in Transport Nagar.
A threadbare discussion was held on proposed plan for developing facilities at Transport Nagar which included construction and maintenance of existing drains and Nullahs, construction of rest rooms, toilets, roads, opening of Bank Branch, Green spaces and allied facilities.
The Div Com asked JMC for management of existing waste, installation of containers and dustbins in the area.
The meeting was attended by VC JDA, Executive engineers of PHE, PWD, PDD, senior functionaries of JMC and other concerned departments.
