JAMMU, June 5: Divisional Commissioner, Dr Mandeep K Bhandari, convened a meeting to review the progress on land acquisition cases under the Ring Road Mega Project, here today.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu Kumar Rajeev Ranjan , Project Director NHAI, M T Attarde, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), concerned SDMs and Assistant Commissioner Central.
During the meeting, the Div Com reviewed the progress of land acquisition cases involving 50 villages which are at different stages of the acquisition.
It was given out in the meeting that project involves 322 hectare of land and formalities under Section 6 and 7 of the Act have been completed for 67% of the land at present.
Dr Bhandari asked for speeding up the process with coordination among the stakeholders and comprehensive interaction between SDMs, NHAI and Div Com office so as to remove unnecessary hurdles. He asked the concerned SDMs to personally monitor the process and adopt confidence building approach with the public so as to expedite disposal of land acquisition issues.
Earlier, in another meeting held to review the progress of Jammu Cable Car Project, the Div Com directed the concerned departments to put in coordinated efforts so that held up issues are resolved at the earliest . He further said that these projects are of paramount importance for the region and must be executed at a faster pace so that the region can reap benefits from such projects at economical and social front.
The meeting was attended by Director Tourism Smita Sethi, Conservator of Forests, Naveen Shah, MD JKSCC Shamin Ahmed, AC Revenue S.D Singh and other officers of PHE and Forest Departments.
