Div Com reviews progress on demarcation of JDA, State land

JAMMU, July 23: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the progress on demarcation of JDA and State land in Jammu and Samba districts at a meeting with concerned officers.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sushma Chouhan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu, Chander Parkash, S P South, Vinay Sharma besides Tehsildars of JDA and other concerned officers.
The concerned officers informed the Div Com about the status of demarcation and land retrieved so far in Sidhra, Pragalta, Sujwan and other areas of district Jammu. They informed about pendency and also shared future plan.
The Div Com asked the concerned to set targets and expedite the process of demarcation and removal of structures on encroached state land and handing it over to JDA.
He passed directions for fencing the land retrieved so far so as to prevent further enchantments.
Later, in another meeting Divisional Commissioner reviewed progress on land issues of Udhampur-Srinagar -Baramulla rail link (USBRL) Project.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Northern Railway (USBRL), Sandeep Gupta, Divisional Manager SFC, Showkat Hussain, Deputy Chief Engineers, Banihal, Reasi and other concerned officers, while Ramban and Reasi Deputy Commissioners along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
A threadbare discussion was held on various issues related to the project. The Div Com sought details of land acquisition cases, shifting of utilities, disbursement of compensation in the twin districts
The DC Reasi and Ramban informed about the progress on each case.
The Div Com asked them to resolve the land acquisition cases, issuance of awards and disbursement of compensation to the beneficiaries and other bottlenecks on priority for early completion of this prestigious project.
