JAMMU, Mar 24: A meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner, Dr Pawan Kotwal to discuss the issues related to Jammu Master Plan 2032.
The meeting was convened to address the problem of encroachment and to facilitate the execution of plans as part of Jammu Master Plan 2032 by JDA. JDA requested for the assistance from the revenue, police and other associated departments for successful resolution of disputed patches of land in these areas.
JDA also requested the district authorities to expedite the process of handing over the possession of those tracts of land which have been transferred to the authority from time to time and to facilitate the process for demarcation and fencing of the land.
Threadbare discussions were held and all concerned departments put forward concerns and shared suggestions to resolve the menace of encroachment.
Divisional Commissioner said that habitual encroachers should be strictly dealt with to stop them from creation possible law and order situations and asked the concerned departments to develop communication channels with community leaders so that they do not end up becoming instruments for the nefarious elements.
Dr Kotwal directed DC, SSP and other District Officers to develop inter departmental coordination and study each case in detail before initiating the anti encroachment drive and to use all legal provisions at their disposal to dissuade the miscreants.
Various district officers and officials including Deputy Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda, Director Rural Development M L Raina, Vice Chairman JDA Mubarakh Singh, DLM JDA S.P. Rukwal, SSP Samba Joginder Singh, ADDC Jammu Anuradha Gupta, AC (Rev) Dr Tahir Firdous, SP Rural Arun Gupta, Dy. Director ULB M.B. Lone, DFO Dr V.S. Senthil Kumar were present for the meeting.
