SRINAGAR, Feb 6: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal convened a high level meeting of officers here today to assess the situation arising due to recent floods in health institutions in the Valley.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Director Heath Services Kashmir, Principal Government Medical College Srinagar, Superintendents of various Hospitals, besides heads of various territory health institutions including SKIMS, SMHS, LD Hospital, Bone & Joint Hospital, Jehlum Valley College, Dental College, JNMH Rainawari and Gousia Hospital Khanyar.
The Divisional Commissioner reviewed the availability of various facilities including Diagnostic facilities like MRI, USG, X-Ray, ECO etc. He also reviewed the availability of medicines in the Valley Health Institutions. He directed the concerned to ensure adequate heating arrangements in all health institutions for the convenience of the patients and their attendants.
Mr. Kansal was informed that the diagnostic facilities have been restored in all health institutions of the Valley which suffered severe damage during September floods.
The heads of various health institutions informed Mr. Kansal about various problems being faced by them in delivering quality health care facility to the people.
Mr. Kansal assured them that their problems would be taken up with concerned quarters for timely redressal.
Later, he alongwith Deputy Commissioner Srinagar visited various health institutions including SMHS to have the firsthand account of the facilities being provided to patients in these hospitals.
He took rounds of wards of these hospitals and interacted with the patients and their attendants.
He also inspected diagnostic machinery including CT Scan etc. installed in these hospitals and enquired about the availability of medicines to the patients.
He urged the concerned officers to work with devotion and come to the expectation of people.
