JAMMU, Dec 3: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu today reviewed the draft of Jammu Master Plan in a meeting held here today.
The Draft has been prepared by Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT) University Ahmadabad consultant to Jammu Development Authority (JDA).
While reviewing the Jammu Master Plan, Shantmanu said that there is need for modification in draft of Jammu Master Plan. He stressed for protection of Agriculture land and for promotion of vertical development instead of horizontal. He expressed concern that Kandi land is used for expansion of residential colonies and industrial development.
He asked to constitute the working group comprises of officers from all line departments and other stakeholders in the revision process to make it a comprehensive and implementable document.
Earlier, in a power point presentation, the Divisional Commissioner was briefed about the various components of Master Plan. He was apprised about proposed Business Centers, proposed Transport and Bus Stop locations, Mono Rail, proposed residential and commercial units, etc.

Raina, CE Irrigation & Flood Control Sushil, SE JDA P.L. Bhushan, SE R&B S. P. Manhas, SE PDD Gurbachan Singh, SE PHE Sunil Gupta, other senior officers of concerned departments besides Rashid Mughal and Anand Patil from CEPT attended the meeting.
