KATHUA, Feb 26: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu along with Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today launched Project Sahayeta planned and executed by district administration.
The first of its kind project in the State provides video-conference connectivity in 24 Government offices including SDMs, Tehsildars and BDOs having greater public interface. The project has been launched by District e-Governance Society through NIC.
The facility will be utilized for official meetings between district and sub-divisional, tehsil and block level administrative units thereby saving time spent by officers in travelling to headquarters. It will also provide a platform for weekly interaction with public deputations sitting in far flung areas of Bani, Basohli, Billawar, Duggan, Lohai Malhar and Duggan where there can have a direct meeting with Deputy Commissioner and district offices of essential services and line departments for grievance redressal.
The project has a component of Tele-medicine to be offered to public in remote areas and specialist doctors providing medical assistance from Kathua, Jammu and hospitals in other places. A weekly youth leadership programme through videoconference for students of remote areas has also been launched under the project wherein students can interact with career specialists, officers, teachers and guides regularly and raise their queries on career matters.
Divisional Commissioner interacted with SDMs, Tehsildars and BDOs through videoconference and congratulated district administration for this unique initiative for public grievance redressal and administrative efficiency. He also reviewed the status of new administrative units and essential services through videoconference and distributed tablet PCs among Tehsildar and BDOs
SSP Kathua Neeva Jain, ADDC N S Bali, IAS probationer Anshul Garg, CPO Ram Rattan, ACR Atul Gupta, ACD Tilak Raj, CMO, CEO, DIO-NIC Sideshwar Bhagat, X-En PHE, PWD, PDD, PMGSY, RTIC and district officers of line departments were present in meeting.
