District Officers sensitized about employment scheme

JAMMU, Aug 6: Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Secretary, Rashid Ahmad Qadri here today held a meeting wherein KVIB District Officers along with field functionaries of Jammu division were sensitized about the scheme ‘J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme’.
A handout of KVIB stated that the scheme has been approved by the State Administrative Council and its web portal shall be launched on August 10. The scheme shall soon be started in the State to benefit unemployed youth of all the districts of the State.
Speaking in the meeting Secretary KVIB discussed the aspects of the scheme in detail and informed that the scheme is a credit linked subsidy programme to benefit the youth of the State in establishing their productive enterprise in micro industrial sector and to create employment opportunities in rural as well as urban areas.
He impressed upon the officers to identify the beneficiaries under this scheme and work with zeal to promote it.
Earlier, the Secretary met Director Sainik Welfare J&K (SWJK) and made him aware of the benefits of PMEGP scheme and informed that the scheme can be very useful for the ex-servicemen in establishing their income generating ventures. The Director SWJK assured the Secretary KVIB to shortly arrange a meeting with Northern Commander.
Others who attended the meeting included FA & CAO KVIB Ahraf Haqla, Dy. CEO, KVIB Jammu Division Pawan Kumar Gupta, Dy. Registrar KVIB Rohit Kashyap and Senior Officer of the Board.
