POONCH, Apr 29: District administration convened a meeting of prominent citizens providing them an opportunity to highlight grievances, demands and suggest measures.
The meeting was chaired by District Development Commission Sajjad Ahmed Khan and attended by SSP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain, ADDC Anwar Hussain, ACR, Executive Engineers and district officers.
During the meeting, the citizens rued inadequate supply of drinking water and power. They lamented that for the last four months, Poonch people were not getting power for even six hours daily despite promise for the same by the Divisional Commissioner and the ministers during their visit to the town. They also alleged poor network of BSNL.
The DDC assured all possible action to resume smooth supply of drinking water and power. He also sought cooperation of general public in maintaining peace and tranquility in the area.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting, included Shah Mohd Tantray, Mohd Jabbar, Taj Mir, Harcharan Singh Khalsa, Barkat Singh Azad, S N Khajuria, Narinder Singh and others.
