REASI, Apr 29: District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today convened a meeting of all District and Sectoral officers to review the pace of developmental works and schemes, progress made in Annual Plan 2012-13 and Annual Action Plan for 2013-14.
All the district officers gave a detailed resume of the achievements made so far under State Plan and Centrally Sponsored Schemes. Progress of PWD, PDD, Rural Development, Forest, PMGSY, Land Acquisition, Health, Industries, Irrigation, Education, SSA, RMSA, Urban Local Bodies, Katra Development Authority, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and other important departments was reviewed in the meeting. Officers apprised the DDC about shortage of staff, fund constraints and other bottlenecks.
The DDC instructed the officers not to leave station without permission, submit tour diaries frequently and address public grievances. He directed that officers posted in Udhampur and holding additional charge of Reasi district should be available at district headquarters in Reasi on every Monday and Tuesday.
The officers were asked for frequent touring of the remote areas and fix days for such touring in every week. The DDC expressed concern over shortage of officers and subordinate staff in the district which he assured to take up with Government. The officers of the concerned sectors were directed to gear up the developmental activities so that the benefits of these schemes and activities may percolate to the common masses.
Dr Choudhary said that regular check on the construction and developmental works is important for time bound completion and quality of works and directed the officers to work with honesty and dedication and come up to the expectations of the public. He also directed the officers to pay special attention to empowerment of Panchayats and make devolution of power a success in letter and spirit.
The meeting was attended by SSP Reasi Raghubir Singh, ADC Rajnder Singh Tara, ASP Sharief Chauhan, ACR Nawab Din, ACD Joginder Rai, Superintending Engineers of PWD, PMGSY, PDD, Executive Engineers, DFOs, CPO Reasi Janak Raj, Collectors of Land Acquisition, officials of BRO, NHPC and all officers of line departments.
