Distribution of ration, essential items in full swing on Day-12 of lockdown

JAMMU, Apr 5: On the 12th day of the ongoing lockdown amid outbreak of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the distribution of ration and other essential items among needy people continues in full swing.
Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla continued distributing ration and other necessary items among needy and poor families of Gandhi Nagar constituency at Quasim Nagar and Bahu Fort. Prominent among those who accompanied Bhalla include Bunty Pardhan, Pana Lal, Pintu, Manju Madam, Diwan Chand and others.
Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation (SNCF) Branch Jammu distributed relief materials to the underprivileged and needy sections of the society. All the 30 branches in Districts Jammu, Kathua and Samba selflessly participated in this drive. The drives were held under the supervision of Ajit Singh Zonal Incharge SNM.
Sahara Educational Trust continued 2nd phase drive with the distribution of essential commodities among daily wagers, labourers of Krishna Nagar area. RK Kalsotra, State President Indian Chamber of Commerce for Affirmative Action, Monica Kalsotra, Trustee, Rajnesh Kapoor, B Pandita and Abhimanyu Kalsotra were also present on the occasion.
Continuing its motto to serve poor people, Asha Kiran Welfare Society Janipur Colony distributed ration items to more than 170 families from Shivalikpuram, Krishna Vihar and Ananpur Mohallas in Janipur Housing Colony, Jammu. Dr J P Gupta, Chairman thanked all the members of the society who came forward for providing financial help/free ration to the needy people. Those who donated generously included Dr R D Gupta, Bodh Raj Sharma, Dr Kuldip Gupta, Vijay Tak, Vijay Verma and others. President of the society Dr Vikrant Sharma was also present on the occasion.
To help the migrant families in Chadwal Panchayat, renowned social workers of Chadwal namely Bodh Raj Gupta, Tinku Gupta and Monu Gupta distributed the ration and essential items among 150 families in the presence of Sarpanch of Chadwal Panchayat Seemant Sharma, Parshotam and Ajay Sharma.
Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor distributed essential food supplies including flour bags, cooking oil and other essential items among the needy people in Ward Number 5 of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Rajan Gupta, a well known social activist along with Ex Sarpanch Muthi Raj Roop Singh and President All India Human Rights Tarsem Manhas distributed face masks and hand sanitizers among people in Lower Muthi and Barnai areas.
All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha distributed ration and food items to the needy who are struggling to earn a single meal a day. President of the Sabha FC Bhagat was also present on the occasion.
RSS Karyakartas distributed free ration among poor and needy persons of District Poonch.
Indian Red Cross Society distributed ration and other food items among 620 poor and needy families on the directions of Divisional Commissioner (Chairman, IRCS Jammu). Vinod Malhotra, Secretary Indian Red Cross Society Jammu Region along with his staff covered Reshamghar Colony, Mazdoor Basti, Krishna Nagar, Bajalta and its adjoining areas.
BJP workers team led by Ex-MLA Bhaderwah Dileep Parihar distributed free ration kits to more than 148 BPL families in Mandal Changa, Tehsil Gandoh. Mandal pardhan Harnad Singh Rana, Chander Kant, Mohammad Iqbal Sheikh and many senior members of the BJP were also present on the occasion.
Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) Vikram Randhawa distributed ration among the needy and poor families of Ward No-22 Shastri Nagar and Ward No-53 Trikuta Nagar of Gandhi Nagar assembly segment along with Councilors Jai Deep Sharma and Jyoti Devi.
Har-Vandana Welfare Society Poonch served the needy people with packed food and other essentials. The society is active from the first day of lockdown by providing essential supplies to doorstep of people with the help of Poonch Police, civil society and its volunteers.
Over 1000 dry ration prepared by youth members of Korotana Kalan and Nai Basti areas in last one week were distributed among the needy people at their homes and community centres. Rohit Choudhary social activist and resident of Korotana Kalan village, Former Sarpanch Gurmeet Singh Bajwa, Kashish Choudhary, Bunty Singh, Abhi Choudhary, Jimmy and many others were present on the occasion.
Lavish Social and Educational Trust distributed ration and medicines among the poor and needy people in Barnai, Muthi and Bohri areas. Vinod Pandita Chairman of the trust and many others were present on the occasion.
District Youth Congress President Kathua Romi Sharma along with his colleagues distributed food among poor people and migrant families living in and around Kathua.
Janipur residents Nitin Pandita, Vicky Sharma and Rakesh Mehra served eatables to the police personnel at Jammu.
Mohallah Welfare Committee Sector 7 Nanak Nagar Jammu distributed food items to needy people. Inder Singh Corporator, Surjit Singh Chopra, Joginder Singh and many others were present on the occasion.
Samaj Sewak along with Sahayak Welfare Trust Hatli Morh led by Municipal Councillor Dheeraj Singh served cooked food to inter state labourers residing in Tara Nagar, Chak Partap and Hatli Morh areas of District Kathua.
