Dispute within first Family of SP in UP sets to rest: Akhilesh demands say in assembly ticket distribution

LUCKNOW:  an agreement reached out between Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Yadav, ending the  five days long dispute within the first family of the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh today with Shivpal agreeing to withdraw his resignation and Akhilesh conceding to return the departments snatched from his uncle.

But Akhilesh continued his tough stand over the state of affairs within the party in UP and said he should be given the authority to choose party candidates for the assembly polls.

However, in the fight, the main gainer who was sacked was mining Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, who will be reinstated with change in his department with another sacked minister Raj Kishore Singh being left out.

The  Chief Minister too has accepted to retract a bit amidst warning that he knows to hit back hard if ignored or annoyed.

SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said, “there is no discord within the party and the family and the entire Samajwadi parivar was united.  The SP chief brokered peace between his son Akhilesh and brother Shivpal Yadav after separate meeting with both today at his residence.”

As per the  four-point peace formula, the portfolios of Shivpal yadav like the PWD, Irrigation, Revenue and Cooperative will be restored to him, sacked minister for mining department Gayatri Prasad Prajapati will be reinstated  in the cabinet  and will be given some different department.

Shivpal Yadav will withdraw his resignation from the post of the state president of the party and Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh will be marginalised and will have no say in the affairs of the party government and the first family of the party.

Flanked by the sacked minister Gayatri Prajapati, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav addressing the party cadres at the party office said “ I have spoken to everybody and there is no dispute between Akhilesh and Shivpal and neither there was any dispute with Ram Gopal and Akhilesh will visit the residence of Shivpal to sort out the pending issues pertaining to the Government and the party”.

Praising his brother Shivpal as hard working leader, the Samajwadi Party chief said, “Shivpal Yadav will continue to function as minister in Akhilesh Yadav cabinet and his old portfolios will be restored to him and he will also shoulder the responsibility of the state president of the party.”.         Putting at rest the speculation that the party may split over the dispute between the Chief Minister and his uncle, The SP chief said, “there can never be any split in the party as long as I am alive and I am confident that Akhilesh will abide by my directions”.

During the speech by the party chief the supporters of Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav raised slogans in support of their respective leaders.         On reinstating Gyatri Prajapati, the SP chief said, “Akhilesh Yadav will never say no to me and he will never defy my direction. Gayatri Prajapati is standing besides me and decision about his sacking from the cabinet has been cancelled and he will be reinducted”.

Recalling his past and Mulayam Singh Yadav said, “I had been MLA for 11 terms, MP for six terms and leader of opposition in UP assembly and minister of defence and barely missed the chance to become the prime minister of India. Now it’s for you to close your ranks and go back to your respective constituencies and start working for the 2017 state assembly election if you want to bring back the party to power next year”.

Without naming any party or leader, Mulayam Singh Yadav said “ there are certain forces which are against the Samajwadi Party return to power in 2017 but such forces will never succeed”.

He also warned the workers and the leaders about the “conspiracy” by the media to create rift among the leaders.”Someone between us is fueling the media. They (media) were spreading wrong message,” he claimed.

However, the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in a function of a private TV channel said, “it is easy to make allegations, but no one can prove corruption allegations against his Government.”

“It is my responsibility as a son to accept Netaji’s decision?. I accept Netaji’s decision to bring Gayatri Prajapati back into cabinet,” he said.

The CM further said,”It is an elections time, we should all come together and work. There is no fight between Ramgopal Yadav, Akhilesh & Shivpal.”        When asked about his feeling after being taken the post of the state SP president, the CM was honest to admit ,”I felt bad and you saw its effect.” (AGENCIES)
