JAMMU, June 2: The displaced Jal Shakti (PHE) employees are without salaries for last four months. The Displaced PHE Employees Association in a statement today said that some of the migrant employees of the department are facing many hardships in meeting their day to day expenses due to non payment of salaries.
The Association said that despite repeated pleas to authorities they failed to settle the problem which took place after handing over of city PHE divisions to Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) which refused to pay salaries to migrant employees on the pretext that they have no such provision nor any directive from the Government in this regard.
The Association said that they are unable to pay the school and tuition fee of their children due to non payment of salaries and some of the schools have even issued warning to their children of termination due to non payment of the dues.
The Association has appealed the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha seeking his immediate intervention in the matter and issuing directives to concerned authorities to release the salaries of the displaced employees of PHE Department as non payment of salaries for more time will bring their families at the verge of starvation.
Meanwhile All Displaced Kashmiri Employees Forum (ADKEF) president, M K Tickoo has expressed his serious concern over callousness of the authorities for non payment of the salaries to migrant employees and urged the Government to settle the issue without any delay.
He warned agitation in case the salaries’ issue of displaced PHE employees is not settled immediately.
