Discussion on Budget continues in LC without Oppn

JAMMU, Jan 16: Several members of Upper House participated in discussion on Budget 2018-2019 on second day today and gave their valuable suggestions.
Participating in the debate, Ajat Shatru Singh, appreciated the Government for presenting the people friendly budget for the year 2018-19 in which people of all walks of life have been included. He said that introduction of Pays and Accounts Office (PAO) will bring transparency and and help to check corruption in the system.
Hailing the employee friendly schemes included in the budget, Ajat Shatru Singh stressed upon employees to work with more dedication and honesty to come up to the expectations of the Government as well as general masses.
He also hailed the budget for inclusion of transgender in BPL category to raise their social status in the society.
He suggested for earmarking funds for revival and preservation of water bodies of the State including the beautification of world famous Dal lake.
Pardeep Kumar Sharma also appreciated the budget describing it as people friendly in which all sections have been included. “It is like a dream come true for people to have such transparent and efficient budget,” he added.
He also hailed the measures suggested for stabilization of rates for edible commodities, which will provide relief to the general masses to a large extent. He also said that the budget proposals for the year 2018-19 are bound to elevate the status of labour class with the enhancement of their wages. He also said that by inclusion of medical insurance scheme for pensioners and hike in personal accidental insurance is a historic and bold step taken by the Government.
He further stated that waiving off transport taxes in view of 2014 floods and unrest of 2016 in the State is also a great step taken by the present dispensation. He also appreciated the Prime Minister for providing liberal funding for the development of the State.
He demanded that more funds should be allocated for the agriculture sector in border areas where crops get damaged due to the cross border shelling.
Yasir Reshi said that to appoint Dr. Haseeb Drabu as Finance Minister was a mature decision of the former Chief Minister late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as he presented the fourth people friendly budget  having a vast range of  beneficial schemes in it.
He appreciated the budget for earmarking funds for revival of silk industry in the State. He called for earmarking more funds for fish, sheep rearing and promotion of apiculture in the State to overcome the unemployment problem in the State. He also appreciated CMs scooty scheme aimed at women empowerment.
Vibodh Gupta also appreciated Finance Minister and his team for presenting a people friendly, clear and transparent budget and easily comprehensible for general masses. He hailed the provision for reforming the walnut industry in the State and demanded the packaging and other processing be done in the state prior its export.
He also appreciated the proposal for establishing new schools and colleges to further boost the education sector in the State.
The Legislator also appreciated the decision of regularization of casual workers and inclusion of insurance scheme for BPL families. He noted that the proposal for PHE Department will help to augment and revive defunct water supply schemes and benefit the people by reducing the scarcity of water to a large extent.
He further appreciated Prime Minister for extending full support for the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
