JWAM holds protest against JMC over poor sanitation system

JAMMU, Jan 16: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a protest against Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for poor sanitation system in the Jammu city, particularly in Jammu West constituency.
While addressing the protesters at New Plot, Sunil Dimple, JWAM president, said that the West constituency has been turned into heaps of garbage and the poor drainage system has added to the woes of the public.“The drains are in worst condition and the water over flows on the roads of the constituency in all the wards of the West constituency and nobody is there to take cognizance”, he added.
Stating that all the Mercury lamps on the main roads and street lights of the West Assembly constituency are out of order, Dimple demanded replacement of all these lights. He however said that the only sky lift vehicle of the JMC is not in working condition for last three months and demanded to purchase at least three more sky lift vehicles for Jammu city.
Dimple said the people of Jammu city are facing huge traffic problem but the Deputy CM, Dr Nirmal Singh and MPs as well as MLAs of Jammu are in deep slumber and doing nothing for the construction of the fly over at Rehari Chungi and ring road.
He also sent a memorandum to the JMC Commissioner Ramesh Sharma and Deputy CM, Dr Nirmal Singh, apprising them of the poor drainage system in the Jammu city.
