It has reference to the news “PDD only targetting Jammu region, no action in any part of Kashmir valley” DE Sept 06, 2017.
The selective approach of the PDD is a tip of an iceberg of the discrimination the Jammu region is faced with. In fact Jammu region has been a victim of discrimination by the successive State Governments since independence. The arrival of the BJP in the corridors of power had generated a hope amongst the population of Jammu region. But, the hopes have been belied as there is no change at ground zero. If there is any change in larger perspective only the time will tell.
Jammu is facing discrimination in case of appointments, developmetal issues and service generation and distribution. The memory is not too short to forget how a new nomenclature for “The Daily Wagers” of Jammu region was invented to pay them far less than their counterparts in Kashmir valley. The discrimination in employment is too evident to hide. The recent selections by State Public Service Commission in education department underline the same fact. The creation of posts of Assistant Professors for Kashmir language is aimed at furthering the Kashmir centre politics. Unfortunately, the BJP has fallen prey to this politics.
To conclude, Jammuites need to wake up and fight for not to this discrimination. Better late than never.
