Kathua, May 8: Director Tourism Jammu, R.K.Varma & Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Chief Executive Officer Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority today visited Bani, Basohli & Sarthal areas alongwith a team of officials to inspect the ongoing tourism projects in the area.
At the outset, the team visited Basohli and inspected the TRC Building located at Plahi near Basohli. The Director emphasized for proper upkeep and functioning of TRC as after the operationalization of Atal Setu Cable Bridge,the inflow of visitors to J&K from Punjab and Himachal is likely to increase through new route which is shorter and well – maintained.
The team inspected Tourist Reception Centre building constructed by Tourism Department at Bani on the banks of Sewa River. The Director asked the Executive Engineer of Tourism Directorate Jammu to give final touches to the Building so that it can be made functional in coming months.
At Sarthal, the Director Tourism took a review of all other ongoing works in the area. The Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority apprised that LSDA has recently installed signages on tourism spots of the district and sought help of the Director Tourism in organizing Tourism Festival at Sarthal,so that local folk and culture is promoted besides promotion of tourism. The Director assured to help in this regard after consultation with Secretary Tourism, Mr. Farroq Ahmad Shah.
Sushil Attri, Deputy Director Tourism Publicity Jammu, Mr.Goni Executive Engineer, Tourism Jammu, Kamal Kishore,Exn. LSDA and other officials of Tourism Directorate and LSDA were present in the meeting.
