SRINAGAR, Aug 5: The Department of Technical Education organized 3-day “Job Mela-2015”- HOPE (Huge Opportunities Prosperous Employment) for the skilled youth who had got training in various trades from different Polytechnic Institutions and ITIs and intend for their placement in various companies and industries outside the State.
The Mela was inaugurated by the Director Technical Education Showkat Ahmad Zargar at Government Industrial Training Institute, Bemina today. A large number of Polytechnic Diploma Holders and ITI pass outs participated in the Mela.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director said that the job-mela will serve as a platform in terms of job and employment opportunities for the skilled unemployed youth of the State. He said that main objective of organizing such a Mela is to make the unemployed youth aware about the importance of vocational trainings in their day to day living and boost them towards private sector. He said all pass out ITI certificate holders as well as Polytechnic Diploma Holders of the State are eligible to register themselves in this job mela.
Mr. Zargar said that the mega Job Mela is being organized in order to create maximum job, employment opportunities for the youth of the State. He said for the purpose the department has approached different stakeholders, organizations from various public, and private sectors of the country who, under one roof, actively participated in making this job mela a grand success.
Mr. Zargar said that necessary counseling to at least 2000 Polytechnic Diploma Holders and ITI trained unemployed youth are expected to be provided in the job mela and after that a shortlist of about 600 to 700 youth shall be prepared accordingly.
As many as 45-50 Companies of the country will select skilled youth from different branches, trades with the purpose of providing them employment. The representatives of various companies including M/s Fil Industries Ltd, Archina Cold Storage Pvt Ltd, I Fresh, Kehwa Group, Alba Power Ltd, Pure Weave, City Constructions, Himalyan Steel Industries, Comfort Polymare, Alba Electrical, Airtel, Micro Turners, Engineers Auto, TCI Cements, Dr IT Group, Basic Group of Industries are participating in this mega job-mela to make placement of skilled manpower for their industries, companies.
