SRINAGAR, May 31: The Director Technical Education, Parvaiz Iqbal Khateeb, cancelled all orders of attachments and transfers along with post of all the officials of the departments.
These transfers and attachments were made by the former directors from time to time which had badly affected the training programme in the department.
At least 17 officials of the institutes were attached in the Directorate of Technical Education, 22 in the State Board of Technical Education, 20 in the Divisional offices of the Directorate and hundreds of officials of one institute to another. These attachments had not only affected the training programmes run in the institutes but also overburdened the State exchequer.
Employees of the department have hailed the move of the new director. Senior JCC leader and General Secretary of ITI Employees Union Mohammad Abbas said such actions will improve training programme in the department. He said large numbers of posts are vacant in the department which cannot be filled up in absence of recruitment rules.
“The draft rules have been referred to the administrative department for incorporation of new posts in relevant recruitment rules in 2009, but the administrative department has not done anything over it and thus training programme of the ITIs and polytechnics are suffering,” he said.
The employees have appealed to the Government to finalize the recruitment rules without any further delay so that the posts created by the Government in 2003, 2005 and 2007 are filled up properly and the trainees undergoing training in these institutes will heave a sigh of relief.
