JAMMU, Oct 13: Director Agriculture Production and Farmer’s Welfare Jammu K K Sharma today distributed paddy threshers on 100% subsidy to Panchayats Khojipur and Karyal Brahmana, the tail Panchayats of Jammu district.
The threshers were presented in the presence of MD JK Agro Industry Arun Manhas, Joint Director Marketing Arvinder Singh Reen and CAO Jammu Arvind Baru in an impressive function held at Khojipur. The programme was attended by many farmers of Panchayat Khojipur and Panchayat Karyal Brahmana, Sarpanch Khojipur Rajesh Sharma, Sarpanch Karyal Brahmana Anil Sharma and other PRIs.
While speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture Jammu highlighted the importance of integrated farming, mushroom cultivation and vermin-compost viz a viz the present day sustainable agriculture and doubling the farmer’s income till 2022 while Joint Director Agri A S Reen highlighted the role of farm mechanization in doubling the farmers’ income and invite farmers to come forward on community basis for farm machinery banks.
Awareness on different CSS and Capex Budget Schemes connected directly with the welfare of farming community were also given to the farmers.
Other prominent who attended the programme were Surinder Kumar (Agriculture Extension Officer, Channi Himmat), JAEOs–Navneet Kour, Harmeet Kour, Manjeet Kour, Arun Singh and AEAs –Deepak Singh, Amit Sharma, Vishal Sudan, Ramneek Dubey and Satpal Dogra.
