JAMMU, July 15: The PHE unit of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association held strong protest demonstration at office of Chief Engineer, PHE Complex B C Road here today, in which, a large number of Junior Engineers belonging to various PHE divisions participated.
After the demonstration, the JEs called on Chief Engineer, PHE Department Jammu and demanded adherence to the codal procedure including implementation of Civil Accounting System in the department as the Junior Engineers were being forced to take up the work departmentally which is against the standing orders of the administration. They demanded that all the works for regulation of water supply should be put to tender.
They also brought in to the notice of the Chief Engineer, the alleged mal-practices of Executive Engineer, PHE Rural Division Jammu and demanded an enquiry against the erring officer who is in process of trying to find some way out to continue his corrupt practices.
The central body of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association led by its president Er Upinder Singh has also extended its full support to PHE Unit Jammu also made a representation to the Chief Engineer to personally look into the matter, who assured the deputation of proper enquiry.
