JAMMU, Jan 13: Demanding provision for Jammu city specific special funds, Sunil Dimple, president of Jammu West Assembly Movement, today held a demonstration to lodge protest against the presentation of alleged anti-people, anti-poor and anti-youth budget by the Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu in J&K Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
The protesting people raised slogans against the State Government and torched copies of the budget speech. They were demanding special funds for tourism projects in Jammu city and West Assembly constituency,
While addressing the gathering, Sunil Dimple said that the budget presented by Finance Minister Haseeb Darbu was jugglery of words, directionless and bundle of lies. He appealed the Chief Minister Mahbooba Mufti and Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu to make provision for Jammu city specific special funds before according final approval to the budget.
Sunil Dimple also came down heavily on the MLAs and MLCs of ruling BJP for keeping mum over the burning issues of Jammu, which have been left un-attended in the budget proposal.
“The budget has no provision for solving the traffic problem in Jammu city, which could have been addressed to an extent by allocating special funds for construction of the flyovers at Rehari Chungi and Jewal Chowk,” he said and also demanded funds for the completion of Tawi artificial lake, development of Tawi rive as the tourist spot, implementation of the Chenab water supply project, completion of Mubarak Mandi conservation project, starting rope way from Mubarak Mandi to Bagh-e-Bahu, etc.
Sunil dimple strongly criticized the BJP-PDP Government for making no efforts to get Jammu included in the list of the Smart Cities and establishment of AIIMS here. Recruitment of doctors for Jammu AIIMS should be started and their OPD can be held at GMC Jammu as well as in the Supper Specialist Hospital Jammu,” he explained.
