JAMMU, Oct 3: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today asked Jammu and Kashmir Government as well as Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) to clear whether the three-day visit of Union Home Minister is official in nature or political as there is dilemma among the masses in the UT regarding the nature of this high profile visit.
Addressing a press conference here today, AAP state spokesperson Dr Nawab Nasir said it has been mentioned that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is reaching for three-day visit in J&K this evening and he is scheduled to address rallies in Rajouri and Baramulla on 4th of October and 5th of October, respectively.
“Presently the administration of the Union Territory is being run by the Government of India through LG administration which makes the visit of Home Minister too important,” Dr Nawab said but mentioned that there is dilemma among the people of J&K regarding the nature of visit as no one knows whether the visit is official or political in nature.
He said that BJP cadre is making arrangements for this visit and holding meetings across the Union Territory which indicates that this visit is political in nature but on the other hand some feelers from the bureaucratic setup indicate that this visit is only official. “BJP cadre is trying hard to arrange maximum number of people for rallies of the Home Minister to give a message of acceptance of BJP’s policy in J&K despite the fact that things are contrary,” he added.
Dr Nawab requested J&K Government as well as Ministry of Home Affairs to issue a statement on the nature of the visit of the Home Minister. Stating that people across J&K have high hopes from this visit and expecting some big announcements by Union Home Minister, Dr Nawab requested Union Home Minister to have a good analysis of some burning issues of J&K and address the same so that people in the UT can have a sigh of relief.
