SRINAGAR, Nov 17: Director General of Police and Prisons Dilbagh Singh who is camping in the summer capital in view of the prevailing security situation today paid a surprise visit to Central Jail here.
He was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Zone SP Pani, Range DIG Central Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi, District SP Srinagar Ismail Parray, SP North Sajad Ahmad and the technical staff.
DGP took stock of the situation and the progress made with regard to the segregation and other civil works going on in this high profile jail. The visitors were briefed about the security and other aspects of the management of the Institution by the Superintendent Incharge Mukesh Kakkar.
The visitors showed their overall satisfaction about the condition of the institution and the welfare measures being taken for the inmates.
DGP and others also took a round of the whole of the premises and interacted with the prisoners therein.
This was the first visit of Dilbagh Singh to any jail after taking over as DGP.
