DODA, Apr 23: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban (DKR) Range, Sargun Shukla today chaired an introductory and crime-cum-security review meeting at District Police Office Doda, stressing strict crime control, stronger security grid and intensified anti-drug operations.
The meeting was attended by SSP Doda Kartik Shrotriya and other senior officers including SDPOs, DySsP, SHOs and Incharge Police Posts.
A statement said the officers present in the meeting gave detailed presentations on the law and order situation, crime trends, security challenges and operational preparedness in their respective areas.
The DIGP DKR Range reviewed the overall crime scenario, disposal of cases, counter-insurgency preparedness, anti-drug operations and functioning of police stations.
All pending cases were discussed in detail, with directions for timely and merit-based disposal.
Special focus was laid on cases under the NDPS Act, with instructions for speedy investigation, close supervision and effective prosecution to improve conviction rates.
The DIGP DKR Range, Sargun Shukla directed officers to act firmly against drug peddlers, bovine smugglers and other organized criminals, and to identify and monitor habitual offenders.
She also stressed stronger action in cases related to crimes against women and children.
Emphasizing intelligence-based policing, she called for better coordination with security agencies, intensified patrolling and area domination in vulnerable areas.
The ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan was also reviewed, with directions to strengthen enforcement and awareness drives among youth.
The DIGP underlined the need for professional, transparent and people-friendly policing.
She stressed use of technology platforms like CCTNS, e-Sakshya and e-Summons, and directed officers to ensure proper use of forensic services.
Appreciating the efforts of Police in Doda district, she urged all ranks to work with dedication and strengthen public trust.
The meeting concluded with an interaction on field-level issues.
